"The Rootie by Voloom is a hot tool specifically designed to add lasting volume without product or expensive blowouts. Here’s how: The tool is made with patented plates, which build texture into the under-layers of the hair, lifting the top layers up and away from the scalp (sort of like teasing, but with a hot tool).

The tool was easy to use and reminded me of an old-school crimper. In fact, the result was similar, but you only use the Voloom on the under-layer of hair, leaving the ends and top layer untouched. When I brushed over the Voloom-ed pieces, I got volume that lasted until my next wash (about two days).

The verdict: Fantastic volume with five-minute effort. The only downside is that the heat can be damaging to my already limp hair."
